Title: Hydrogen Rotating Detonation Combustion Technology and Applications

Abstract: To attain carbon neutrality, hydrogen energy has been extensively implemented in industry, including aerospace propulsions. However, hydrogen-powered propulsions face new challenges such as combustion inefficiency and excessive NOx emissions. The hydrogen rotating detonation technology, a novel type of pressure gain combustion technology, promises to tackle these issues. This presentation will review the detonation combustion system characteristics, analyze the mechanisms causing combustion instability, and suggest regulation methods for the hydrogen rotating detonation. Additionally, it will introduce the practical advancements in aerospace propulsions based on the hydrogen rotating detonation technology by the speaker's research team.

Short-biography: Wang Bing is a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Tsinghua University.
